Attire Recommendations

Travel Attire: Your comfort is of most importance when traveling. Wear casual, loose-fitting clothes.

Race Day: Dress according to the weather for that day. Comfortable, closed-toes shoes are suggested and sun block is essential.

Sportswear: Your agenda and leisure time plans will dictate the sportswear you need to pack. You may want to include the following: light cotton slacks, casual skirts, dresses, shorts, sport shirts, blouses, a cap or hat and, of course, a swimsuit and sunglasses.

Casual Evening Attire: Casual wear is appropriate even during the evening. Women will be comfortable in a casual dress, skirt or pants with a blouse. Men will find slacks and a sport shirt appropriate in most settings. Consider packing a light sweater or jacket for cooler evenings.

While planning your wardrobe, keep in mind that temperatures during July in Indianapolis range from highs in the upper 80s-lower 90s to evening lows in the 70s.

Tax Responsibility

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company will issue a 1099 for the value of the trip to the winner if the dealership they represent is not an incorporated business.

An incorporated dealership will not receive a 1099. However, upon request, Goodyear will provide an incorporated dealership with the value of the trip. The dealership is responsible for any additional tax reporting to the IRS with respect to the actual trip participant. Dealerships should contact their tax advisor on this matter.
